Westport Falls
by Peter Alksan
On a cold Wednesday in Westport, I was walking to the supermarket to get groceries for my mom because she was too lazy to get them herself. On the way I happened to walk across the most luxurious forest I've ever laid my eyes on. I walked in the forest even though I was supposed to get groceries like my Mom said.It was so beautiful in there, squirrels gathering food for the winter, the leaves changing colors, I couldn't blink because I never wanted to miss a second of this once in a lifetime sight, but it was getting dark and I had to head home before it got to dark, and I got so distracted I forgot to grab the groceries! Thankfully I had my phone on me and I called my friend Peter to get them for me, saved me from another 45 minute trip.
On my way home I noticed a squirrel following me, so I stopped and picked it up.’’Hey there little guy! I'm gonna name you Tripp’’. He jumped on my shoulder in excitement. It kinda itched but he was cute so I let him. While I was walking home I crossed a few badly decorated houses, piles of dead leaves, and garbage on the ground, until I saw my house. I walked inside and who would've guessed - my Mom is standing right there stomping her feet in anger.’’ Eddie where have you been all night?.’’Oh I was at the park with Peter’’you've been gone for 7 hours Eddie, what were you doing at the park for 7 hours!’’she said, raising her voice every word she said.’’ oh shoot really?’’ I said in confusion.’’Go to bed Eddie NOW! she yelled at me.’’Fine, Mom’’ I said walking up the stairs
I laid in my bed, with Tripp beside me and began to doze off as that forest became a permanent memory.
