Creative Catalysts Exhibition 2026

Creative Catalysts: The Lens of Literature

Creative Catalysts returns for its second year with The Lens of Literature, an exhibition exploring the unexpected possibilities that emerge when artists collaborate across disciplines.

This year, participating artist pairs have chosen a work of literature—whether a book, story, poem, or play—as a source of inspiration, framework, or creative spark. Through conversation and collaboration, each artist brings their own perspective and artistic practice to the process, creating original works that reflect the questions, ideas, and possibilities found within their shared literary inspiration.

From visual art and literary arts to music, multimedia, and other creative mediums, The Lens of Literature celebrates the amazing results of artistic cross-pollination.

Cross-Pollinate with Us!

On view: October 3 – November 29, 2026

Opening Reception: Saturday, October 3, 2026 | 4–6 PM

Location: GroundWork Gallery, 1213 Purchase St., New Bedford, MA

Come explore how literature can open new perspectives, spark conversation, and inspire entirely new ways of creating.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Dartmouth, New Bedford, and Westport Cultural Councils, local agencies which are supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
