Cyanotypes and Sunprints workshop

  • Macomber Friends Community House 930 Main Road Westport, MA, 02790 United States (map)

Interested in photography and creative approaches? Did you know that cyanotypes are not only one of the oldest photographic processes but also one of the safest and easiest to learn?  Come to this workshop to explore this alternative photo process family of cyanotypes, sunprints and photograms.

With both demonstrations and hands-on activities, there is something for adults and children alike.  If you have old negatives around the house, bring them along or pick out your favorite small, flat object to make your own cyanotype. Thin, translucent objects like flowers or leaves work really well but any flat object that has form and definition will be fun to experiment with.  For negatives, black and white works best and sizes up to 5 by 7 inches can be accommodated, so old formats are not a problem.  Materials will also be available at the workshop so no worries if you don’t have your own.  We will be outside if it’s nice and inside if it’s not!
